The Chow Chow is considered to be originally from
China. It is thought to be one of the oldest
breeds. According to ancient scripts, the Chow Chow came to China along with Barbarian
tribes that invaded China almost 3,000 years ago. Many experts believe the Chow is
actually from the Arctic Circle, migrating through Mongolia and Siberia into China.
The Chow Chow is a very unique breed of canine, resembling a lion, and a bear. Even a
young
Chow pup looks like a teddy bear. Chows have large and broad heads with
small triangular or almond shaped eyes. A Chow is a very muscular creature,
with a heavy bone structure, and big, but cat-like paws. The tail on a Chow is set high,
and lays on the back, like the Samoyed. The most widely known feature of the Chow is the
black tongue!
